Introduction
This semester will reinforce the student with exercises on urban structure and also medium span structure. For this semester, the students will be introduced to explore the spatial and perceptual characteristics of the urban form & structure, materials and construction technologies.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
Ø To understand space planning and the complexity of a medium span structure.
Ø To explore design form in relation to image, function, site, structural design, construction technique the suitable choice of materials, building services, and construction technology.
Ø To pay special attention to services system.
Ø To take into account of surrounding urban problems or future development.
PROJECT 1
Task: ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL (NIPPON YOUNG DESIGNER AWARD COMPETITION)
Site Proposed: KKTM Pasir Mas
Evaluation: 20 %
Duration: 5 weeks
Project: Individual
The objective of the project is to raise the next generation to focus on new eco designs. For this project, students are required to design a green design school of architecture in KKTM Pasir Mas. The selected design will be submitted to Young Designer Award 2011 held by Nippon Paint.
